I'm pretty new to Python and was previously just using sublime text and notepad++. I was looking for an IDE and checked out the major ones, including pycharm. Pycharm also seems to be a great package, but Wing does everything I need, has a very intuitive layout, and--best of all--is on Steam. That means I can pay once and download and install it on all of my machines. I love multi-platform, multi-install, single-user licenses. This is the future. I recently decided to install zbrush (which I have licensed and installed in Windows) on my Mac partition, and they wanted me to buy a whole separate mac license. I was reminded that Steam and the Apple app store have totally spoiled me when it comes to my expectations around software licensing. Bring on the easy installs and easy updates. Kudos to Wing for releasing on Steam, and let's hope other dev tools follow suit!. Easy to use, good debugging options and nice UI, direct Python Reference, good project managment. Everything that you can wish your python IDE has to have! :). It's alright I guess, didn't use much of it.. PyCharm is much more customizable and it's free, so, no, I wouldn't recommend this IDE.. This is a great tool for programming maya scripts (and really anything Python). Not really anthing I would change within the program itself. It does bother me that they require internet and have a 2nd liscence verification after already clearning it with steam that I own it, but They have very good customer support too incase you have a problem.. Everything that you can wish your python IDE has to have! :). TL;DRGreat platform, amazing debugging, and offers a lot of baked-in value, especially at the price. There are other platforms just as capable with similar offerings, but from personal perspective, I liked what little bit I tested out. Unfortunately latent discoveries compelled me to uninstall becaue the overall package didn't fit my personal need. It would however, fit the need of many with more expeirence and \/ or fewer requirements. FULLI liked what I used within it, and it definately met some of the needs through addressing many wants but I was unaware that WINGS IDE 6 was released on 12\/20 which packs in several modernized features to include directly working within Raspberry Pi as well as other feature-rich items....IF you buy the $245 professional edition. However, there is now a free edition that is just an updated version of IDE 5 and the developers moved away from Personal \/ Commercial to Personal \/ Professional. I dont fully understnad this model and offering Pi as a 'professional' feature given most users of Pi dont create a full blown product for sale. Though they may, it doesnt encourage use and learning to use IDE for the growing popularity of Pi based systems.. By far the best IDE I ever used. Every tool you can think of is available.Very responsive support. No regrets despite the high price
