Train Simulator: Gatwick Express Class 442 'Wessex' EMU Add-On Activation Code http://ssurll.com/105kyv
About This Content The Class 442 ‘Wessex Electric’ (or 5WES) electric multiple unit (EMU) was introduced in 1988 on the South Western main line between London Waterloo and Weymouth. Their introduction coincided with the completion of the electrification from Bournemouth to Weymouth. The units were initially used solely on the Weymouth line, but through the 1990s began to be used on the London Waterloo to Portsmouth direct line. Upon privatisation, the whole fleet passed to the South West Trains franchise, and then to Southern. In 2008, Southern began a refurbishment programme that saw all Class 442 units pass on to Gatwick Express services between London Victoria and Gatwick Airport, and at peak times to Brighton.Dedicated services between the UK capital and the country’s second busiest airport began in May 1984 with air-conditioned InterCity Mk3 coaches operated by British Rail. In 2008, Gatwick Express ceased to exist as a separate franchise, being merged into the Southern franchise.Despite their popularity on Gatwick Express services, all 24 trainsets are due to be replaced by Class 387 units in 2016 with the 5WES’s future still to be determined. The 442 currently holds the world speed record for a third-rail electric multiple unit on conventional rails with 108mph (174 km/h) attained in April 1988, although the designed operational top speed of the units is 100mph (161 km/h).The BR Class 442 for Train Simulator reproduces the Gatwick Express service as it operated for Southern from 2008. The five-car units comprise of Driving Trailer Standard (DTS), Trailer Standard (TSO), Motor Luggage Composite (MLC), Trailer Standard Wheelchair (TSW) and Driver Trailer Standard (DTS).The train is also Quick Drive compatible, giving you the freedom to drive the Gatwick Express Class 442 ‘Wessex’ on any Quick Drive enabled route for Train Simulator, such as those available through Steam. Also included are scenarios specifically for the London-Brighton route (available separately and required to play these scenarios).ScenariosThree scenarios for the London-Brighton route:City ExpressGatwick ExpressSeaside FlyerMore scenarios are available on Steam Workshop online and in-game. Sadly, I regret buying this. This model is good but it isn't good at all.The sounds a ALWAYS default recycled. Passenger view is okay with how to make a paper aeroplane but with SWT seats is wrong! It even has snow trees at the driver door wall. The doors well, some of it HAS the wrong animation. The inside of the MLC is NOT EVEN finished. The cab is okay but the throttle and reverser is from the 319. Dovetail Games, you ruined this unit.Sadly, I REALLY cannot recommend this even though I can solidly use it but sorry for people who like this unit. I can still use it in 'Steam Workshop' still. About 45% great. But the really good thing is that it has scrolling text on the destinations. But I could recommend this unit if using for better AI or player experience. Dovetail Games, please try again but not rushing another DLC like this...In the description: The World’s fastest electric multiple unit speeds into Train Simulator, perfect for recreating Gatwick Express services on the London-Brighton route. No, its not the 'world’s fastest electric multiple unit'. Its actully the 'world’s fastest third rail electric multiple unit' because it is not fast like the Javelin (Class 395) or ICE 1, 2, 3 and T, Eurostar, HST, Class 180, 390 or any other TGV or other trains that has speeds more than 108 MPH. Even for a mention, the JET train (not actully real), its the worlds fastest train than any other trains in Train Simulator.. Clearly the developers have never ever been on this train in their lifes, since it sounds nothing like the real thing and has physics more like a desiro, than a 442!! Advise you wait for a sale if you really want this. Positives are, at least it looks nice, if nothing else. 4/10. Typical Dovetail daylight robbery. Shocking lack of thought and attention to detail. The real gripes:- They haven't bothered to model the Gatwick Express platforms at Victoria. You use the same ones as the Brighton line.- Sounds like a blender with a potato in it.- The carefully modeled bird turd on the window (honestly, how did that make it through product review and testing as a 'good idea'.- The included scenarios are rather lacking in thought.. This Gatwick-Express (Class 442) Add-On is a very good train for the London-Brighton-Route. The train belongs to London-Brighton (even a must-have).| Features and pros |- very good model of the train / great cab / passenger view with details (best modelling)- fine light effects (headlights with 4 versions of marker light)- nice sounds (alert sound, doors, bell, horn, brake, approach)- new door animation (with correct sound)- a lot of control buttons and switches- lights in cab (cab light, buttons lights, instrument lights)- great window-reflection effects- good physics with 2 brake variations- great animated destination-board (Gatwick Airport, London Victoria, ...)| Bugs and cons |- quiet sound unusually--> result: This Class 442 Add-on is a great expansion for the Train Simulator and includes a lot of nice features (some features are new) and the train is well-made. An real asset for Train Simulator. -- definite recommendation to buy --[29.05.15]. It sounds like a Washing Machine, but the model is good, despite the SWT interior.I think everyone and their dog should get this addon..
